I try to find an excuse to go over to Soul Cafe near UH Manoa far too often than I'd like to admit. If you've ever tried his food, you'll understand my literal hunger pangs for Chef Sean Priester's delicious, Southern/Soul-inspired food that he serves to us right here in Honolulu. It's arguably one of the best fried chickens (http://honolulu.metromix.com/entertainment/1835499) you can get on the island, but I especially love his catfish. In fact, it's not always on the menu, but if you like a good fried fish, definitely try it out.

Soul has something for everyone. My stepmom and my sister are both vegetarians - and they always find something good to eat. We even fought over the fried green tomatoes - a gem of a find on my recent visit. I'd say save room for dessert, but I've honestly never had any from there because I'm so stuffed.

So go hungry and be adventurous - your stomach and taste buds will thank you, as will your guests.

Chef Sean is on Twitter (http://twitter.com/pacificsoul) and you can read the 4-star Yelp reviews (http://www.yelp.com/biz/soul-honolulu).
